Launch party of Laura Crane Youth cancer trust “Next Christmas” campaign.
On the evening of Friday 9th September 2022, as supporters of the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust, Tezelec Ltd were invited to be part of the Next Christmas campaign.
This event has been running for several years and is a keystone in the charity’s calendar.
The evening started with the organiser’s Pam Thornes, Helen Mervill and Sarah Dransfield welcoming supporters and sponsors of the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust that made it to the Shay Stadium in Halifax. The organisers spoke about the objective of the event and what difference the support of everyone at the evening makes to the charity. The event is about bringing a small piece of normality with the message of shared love and support with the hope to alleviate the feelings of loneliness and isolation to 13-24 year olds in hospital over the Christmas period by raising enough money to purchase and give a gift to every person between the ages of 13-24 receiving cancer treatment over the Christmas period.
The evening was full of laughs, games, snowball fights and music featuring the UK’s number one George Michael tribute act Rob Lamberti. It was sponsored by Sheena Doherty of sovereign wealth in Halifax.
The charity funds medical and social research specifically into cancers that affect 13-24 year olds and to provide mechanisms to improve their quality of life and time spent in hospital wards and after treatment to 43 hospitals throughout the UK that treat teenage cancer.
